"So your Navy will bring the hash out to my boat?" Bubba asked somewhat incredulously.   "Yes, Mr. Lee. We are a poor nation. The beautiful uniforms you see our sailors wear cost more than their first year's wages. So, we allow them to supplement. We all supplement. It will cost you $1,000 U.S." ...

"I dreaded the 600 pages, then when five days later I was at the end, I prayed

"This book has to be on the freakin' big screen! AND WILL....I promise."
~Bill VanNoland

Robalone,
Michael Koepf here, an old name from those endless swells that have passed us by. Rob, I've just finished reading Bootlegger's Cove and I truly loved it. You've baited your hook with words, and pulled a wondrous story from that sea within your heart. It's an important book both as literature and as a history of the struggle of salmon fisherman, and of an era that's important history.
Keep pumpin'
Mike
~Mike Koeph, Author "The Fisherman's Son"

Please take note: Susan, in "Bootlegger's Cove," is a fictional chracter. Her relationship to Gar in the book's very end is made up. Any resemblence to any one real, is only because of my lack of imagination.

This book, "In Poseidon's Pocket," by Diane Sherwood Holck is the at the top of my recommended books to read. It takes place on the West Coast salmon-albacore-crab grounds, and is a wonderful companion read to my book, "Bootlegger's Cove." Diane's website is: rockysherwood.com, and her eMail is rocky-ra@hawaii.rr.com. The book can be bought from her direct, or at Amazon: In Poseidon's Pocket.
