I just read your story on Victor Ghio, gosh I miss him. I had the slip R-5 same dock as Victor. For many years I owned a Monterey, the "Buona Madre." I did so many things to that boat, wow, it was built for Catardo Stagnaro in 1936, and stored on the Santa Cruz Warf. I would go by Victor every morning, he would be making bait or fixing his wire. I couldn't believe him working in the dim ligt in that gaff hatch. I could share so many stories with you about him. One morning, I see him working leaned over in the stern of his boat. I walk over and say good morning, his favorite line, "hows it goin bud". I notice he's bleeding, gosh I ask him if he needs help, band aide or what. No, he replies I'm just splicing the wire together. I look and instead of using splices, he is actually unravelled the wire and splicing it together like you would a piece of rope. Well, I better get going, but you touched my heart talking about Victor. I miss him-
